Mr. September

I always seem to be late in bragging about our employees of the month. Better late than never?!

Carl - our amazing potter - was Mr. September.

I met Carl and his lovely and talented wife, Eden, (who I blogged about in January) in a bar in 1982 after I had accompanied Jim to Saturday Market in Portland. Jim was exhibiting his adjustable wooden clamp lamps and Carl and Eden had a booth full of all kinds of pots.

Now, here I am - many moons later - working with Carl. Eden moved on to real estate a few years ago and Carl thought it would be more fun coming to work with us here at Crosby & Taylor, than to keep making pots in his lonely pottery studio.

Everyone here feels very lucky to have such a fun guy on our team. Carl is full of stories and jokes about pretty much everything. He is kind and generous and an all-round awesome guy. On top of all of that, he is really a gifted potter.

He and I designed the Stoneware line together. Here is a fun picture of  the party that we threw him when he joined us - as well as some shots of him hard at work.
