Welcome to our new blog. I plan to post on a wide variety of things. Please feel free to email me or comment if you have a topic you'd like to suggest. Some of the regular or recurring topics will include recipes, (I love to bake and cook, and we do make measuring spoons and cups, after all!) updates on our Tin Woodsman daycare (a.k.a. “BabyLand”), sneak previews of new products, photos of things happening here, and links to other interesting stuff on the web.
If you're unfamiliar with Tin Woodsman Pewter, please be sure to visit our website here. We design and produce all-American made pewter products for the home. We also have a new sister company, Crosby & Taylor. Here we are:
back row, l-r: Kira, Adam, Mark, Brad. middle row, l-r: Tim, Jen (that's me!), Deborah, Carol, Nancy, Sherry with Oliver. front, l-r: Dan, Matt with Anna.
Please feel free to comment any time! I really want to hear from you. Provide a link to your own website, if you have one. My comment moderation policy so far is really simple. It's just this: Comments are moderated before they appear on the site, and I reserve the right to delete any offensive or abusive comments.
Since the comments are moderated before appearing, there will be a delay between when you submit your comment, and when it appears. I promise to do my best to moderate very quickly.
I will be doing the majority of the posting myself, but there will be guest bloggers. New posts will appear every Tuesday and Friday. Coming sometime soon: Posts on "what is pewter?" (vs. things like Mexican pewter), baby photos, our new Baby Collection, Crosby & Taylor, a dinner based on Paula Deen recipes, and more. Please check back!

P.S. For fun, here are a couple more photos. These are from a recent company trip to a local winery. King Estate- check it out if you're ever in Oregon. It's beautiful, and the wines are great!
I love seeing these photos! Looks like a fun field trip you had. And that photo of the babies is adorable :)
ResponderEliminarGlad to see you on the blogosphere. Welcome!
ResponderEliminarlook forward to seeing the baby items- will order from you at some point
ResponderEliminarLove your products! My customers just rave about them and keep coming back for more. Can't wait to see the baby line also. Have you thought of making plant stakes???? Like for small indoor potted herb gardens???
ResponderEliminarBeth
Just wondering if the two cuties in the photo inspired the new baby line?
ResponderEliminarI love your products and I am so excited about your new baby line!
ResponderEliminarNice work, look forward to seeing more, perhaps pictures of the pewter items being made and of the people behind the the steps.
ResponderEliminarHi, I met you at the Atlanta show in January. It was really nice talking with you that afternoon.
ResponderEliminarI have admired your handiwork for a number of years now and can't wait to place an order.
Wishing you all the best. Have a happy Memorial Day weekend.
Tracy
Thanks so much for your help. You are great to work with. Looking forward in seeing your new line.
ResponderEliminarThanks
Love the idea of new items. Keep me informed. Thanks, Jackie
ResponderEliminarI love the sense of family your photos invoke. I think the new line of baby products shows just how much the evolution of your life and creative process parallel each other. If you check out my website you will see that I send a beautiful hardcover community directory to new homeowners. I would love to somehow include your product line. I would be happy to send you a book. This is just the kind of product I would like to offer to my homeowners. Thanks for the blog.

Great photos...almost as good as your work that I've been carrying for 20+ years. Wonderfully designed blog-spot, also. You're always "ahead of the curve". Thanks. Julia at -julia rush- Fine Crafts, Hickory, NC
ResponderEliminarI am looking forward to the new baby line. We have requests for these type of items.
ResponderEliminarAll your products are wonderful!
The first curl box was a great idea. Now i would like to see a first tooth box.
ResponderEliminarThe new sister company is very exciting. I just became an aunt for the first time and it will be great to see what the wonderful minds at Tin Woodsman come up with for baby.
ResponderEliminarI sell TW at my retail shop in Breckenridge, Colorado. I was recently asked if the measuring spoons and cups were accurate and if they were dishwasher safe. I didn't know the answer?
ResponderEliminarCheers!
Sharon
P.S. I love the photos too and recognized the location instantly. I just moved here from Eugene just last fall and my first sale in my new shop were two Tin Woodsman dragon fly hooks. How cool is that!
forgot to add the link for a great article about our new shop

Seems like change is in the air on both sides of America! Since we were visited last year (or could it have been 2 years ago already?!?!?) We have moved from our well established location of 33 years up the block to a new location 6 times! the size. Yes I said we increased our store sq footage by SIX TIMES! Things are great! We currently have a designer working on an easel type display so we can again have a great grouping of all our wonderful Tin Woodsman Pewter product all in one place. In the meantime any news on the a loon pattern?
ResponderEliminarGreat job and good luck with the new line
Can't wait to see the baby items! Looks super cute (plus I have a new little niece that I can't wait to get these baby things for!) We're so excited over here and love whatever you guys come out with!
ResponderEliminarAnything new from youj guys is always highly anticipated, and the baby line is such a great idea, can't wait.
ResponderEliminarThank you for a new line and the special comments on your Blog. It's a great help to get feedback from other retailers, but scary to think that I've been in business for so long. I'm glad I found you and your fantastic, creative line. Cynthia
ResponderEliminarWelcome to blogging! It's always nice to "meet" the people behind the products.
ResponderEliminarNice to see your blog - we love your products and so do our customers. I liked the idea someone posted about small plant stakes.
ResponderEliminarHi, and thank you to everyone who has read and commented so far. It took me a while to get a lot of the comments moderated and up, and I apologize for that. We discovered that the email address for notification was wrong, and I didn't know that comments were coming in! You know how it is when you start something new- there are always one or two things like that.
ResponderEliminarBeth- I can honestly say that I've never heard the plant stake idea here before. Thanks for the suggestion!
Deborah- Yes, while we have been considering a baby line on and off for a while, those two cuties did really get us moving on it!
Jay Gunter- Thanks, we do plan on showing you some of the people behind the products, so be sure to check back!
Olde Mill Shoppe- a First Tooth box is also in the works!
Sharon- Yes, the spoons & cups are accurate. (Not just pretty!) We stand behind our products! They are dishwasher safe with a caveat- people should be aware that the natural process of darkening and acquiring a patina will be speeded up by the dishwasher. Also, some detergents may cause spotting. Isn't King Estate beautiful?
Amy W- Wow!! 6 times more space? I am impressed. Congratulations and good luck with that! Glad you are working on a new TW display for it! I will check in with Deborah on the loons...Thanks for the link. I will check it out.
-Jen
We adore your products! And so do our customers! I was excited to finally start carrying your wonderful products in our store as I've had a set of celtic design measuring spoons for over 10 years. We'd love to see a fern or leaf design and the loon design is a good idea too!) Excited (as the rest) to start carrying the baby line! Congratulations on being a wonderful company!
ResponderEliminarMy customers love the quality and look of Tin Woodsman. Looking forward to seeing the baby line.
ResponderEliminarEnjoyed the great photos. Looking forward to the new baby line. Keep up the good work.

Lots of good ideas, Love the baby gift idea, looking forward to seeing the new things. Crosby & Taylor, what do they do and how do they fit with yawl's things?
ResponderEliminarHi Deborah,
ResponderEliminarI'm very excited to see
all the new goodies. Hope all
is well with you and your
growing family!
Hi all!
ResponderEliminar@Maine Mountain- We are also excited that you are now carrying TW! Thank you for the fern/leaf idea. I haven't heard ferns suggested before, and it sounds beautiful.
@Nuance- We are Crosby & Taylor! It is a sister company that we are starting. It will allow us to expand into new markets. In many of the products pewter will be an accent, rather than the main component.
Your new blog is so warm and enviting. It's so great to see and hear the stories. Looking forward to featuring your products in my new gallery.
ResponderEliminarOne small questions, I think it is my (lack) of computer skills but I found it very cumbersome to leave a comment - is there a short cut link near the top or something that I am missing??
@Janis Gates- I'm sorry you found it cumbersome. I think it's a pretty standard set-up as far as blogs go. I am assuming that the short-cut you are looking for is so that you don't have to scroll through all the comments that are already there? Sorry, but no, there's nothing like that. I think a lot of people find it fun to scroll through and see everyone else's comments first. I know I do! I hope it won't stop you from checking back and commenting on other posts! :)
ResponderEliminarWe are a new Tin Woodsman account and couldn't be happier! The line has really taken off with our customers. Love the idea of baby products - can't wait to see the unveiling.
ResponderEliminarthese blogs are great i think i need to create one it's fun to see everybody. we love all the products and can't wait for the baby line. thanks

Always enjoy seeing your new products. Can't wait to see the new baby line. We've benefited from selling your work for almost thirteen years. What a run!
ResponderEliminarHi Guys,
ResponderEliminarWe've been carrying your work for...ever. Looking foward to seeing the new line. It's nice to see you evolving into these other areas. Can't wait.
Of course we love it all, but really the vineyard series has just been so successful. Now that wedding season is here, we look forward to making it through the tough economic times with the help of the TW! looking forward to seeing the new line- good luck with it. See you in July!
ResponderEliminarThis is my first blog experience. I'm not drawn to spend my time on the computer, but TW is compelling in all it does. We have offered TW products for 14 years in our store, and appreciate the creativity, consistency and quality of the company and the products. Looking forward to the baby line.
ResponderEliminarOur customers love your products. We hated to see you discontinue the cobalt coffee cannisters. In my business, they were popular items. Have had a lot of requests from my customers for tea themed cannisters. Keep up the good work.
ResponderEliminarHi! Hey everyone- I learned how to reply to specific comments in this cool box!
Rick- You're not the only one who misses the cobalt canisters. But our supplier discontinued that color. One of the very cool things about the upcoming Crosby & Taylor Stoneware line is that the potter is working with us. These items will be designed for us. They will be unique, and they will be what we want. We are choosing glazes, etc. And while the initial glazes chosen do not include cobalt, they are beautiful, and there should be something for everyone. We're confident that people will love them!
-Jen
Love the new TW logo and we are looking forward to the new baby line!
ResponderEliminarYour pewter pieces are absolutely beautiful and so finely detailed. My customers are thrilled with their pieces and I look forward to seeing your new baby line.
ResponderEliminarYes, you are pulling a lot of us into the blogosphere! See what an incentive your cute new product is? Congratulations on the new endeavors - it's motivating - and now I'm so curious to see all the new products. After about 20 years of carrying your work, I know the new work will be a great addition to our product mix!
ResponderEliminarLooking forward to all the baby stuff! great category!
ResponderEliminarLove the new blog and am enjoying the photos--it's great seeing faces to match with the names. We're very excited about the new stoneware and baby lines! As a "Made in USA" website, we will be especially thrilled to be able to offer the canisters. Our customers love TWP products - and so do we!
ResponderEliminarWe love the kitchen items and sell them as great wedding gifts. The new baby line will be a natural progression for gifts.
ResponderEliminarHey all tinwoodsmans!
ResponderEliminarThe new baby line should be a big hit! You know babies are being made and born all the time:)) can't wait to see how well it does.... also that little girl from babyland is the most beautiful I've ever seen!! Hope you enjoy that little angel every day...
